At FIERRO, we understand that gastronomy is also about sharing and helping those who need it most.
We regularly collaborate with local charities and food banks to ensure that those in vulnerable situations have access to fresh, nutritious food and an improved quality of life.
We feel involved and concerned about the welfare of the community, and the lack of resources. Our values not only define us, but also enable us to contribute significantly to the development of a more just and equitable society.
Social responsibility makes us aware of our impact and drives us to make ethical decisions that benefit everyone involved, our goal is to collaborate to achieve a more just society, to contribute to eradicate hunger and poverty.
World Central Kitchen
In 2020 life turned us all upside down with CO-VID-19, the global pandemic that left the world barely able to react, the World Central Kitchen organization, and its leader, celebrity chef José Andrés, 2021 Princess of Asturias Award for Concord, arrived with hot meals and food supplies for those who had run out of resources and needed help. From different countries and cities, chefs and volunteers organized themselves to be a bridge between this NGO and those most in need.
We were the contact in Valencia during the pandemic and the confinement, organizing a social kitchen that distributed more than 2000 dishes a day.
Since then we collaborate regularly with World Central Kitchen, in charity galas organized to raise funds to help the most vulnerable people.
Grief-stricken by the terrible events of April 2, we woke up to the news that an Israeli attack had killed seven World Central Kitchen workers in Gaza. “It breaks you in half to think that they killed people who are doing solidarity work.”
Since our arrival in Valencia, more than fifteen years ago, we have worked to contribute to the community, and try to help by collaborating with different NGOs and foundations such as Pequeños Pasos, Mensajeros de la Paz with whom we organize a donation of food and hot meals every Christmas, Asindown, or CEAR Refugio.
We believe in a better world and a better future, where no one goes hungry and everyone can have the same opportunities, a place where fear does not exist.
We believe in constructive dialogue that leads to action.
